Historic Harley-Davidson motorcycle restored at Cyprus Police Museum

A historic Harley-Davidson motorcycle housed at the Cyprus Police Museum has been fully restored to working condition after more than 50 years of inactivity. The restoration was completed through a partnership between the Cyprus Police and Harley-Davidson Cyprus, which covered all project costs. The motorcycle is recognized for its historical value as it was part of the escort fleet for Archbishop Makarios III, the first President of the Republic of Cyprus. Historical records indicate the vehicle was originally donated to the Archbishop by a Cypriot expatriate in the United States who held shares in Cadillac, along with two other motorcycles and one Cadillac car. For many years, the Harley-Davidson was prominently used in official motorcades and state ceremonies during the tenure of Makarios III. Following the recent restoration efforts, the motorcycle is now operational while retaining its collectible and cultural significance. The Cyprus Police have publicly thanked the company for their contribution to preserving this piece of the country's history.
