Motorcyclists account for over 40 percent of traffic fatalities in Cyprus
Recent police data in Cyprus indicate that motorcyclists constitute more than 40 percent of total road-traffic fatalities. Statistics from the previous year show that 18 out of 45 fatal accidents involved motorcycle riders. In the current year, police records indicate that 7 out of 19 fatal crashes involved motorcyclists, with an additional death involving a passenger. This data highlights a consistent trend of motorcyclists making up a significant portion of road casualties. The report has prompted authorities to express concern regarding the vulnerability of two-wheeled vehicle users. Officials emphasize the need for increased caution on the roads to mitigate these risks. Data reporting was provided by Politis and contributed to by Andreas Potamitis.
