Overnight vehicle fires reported in Limassol
Overnight, police and fire services in Limassol responded to two separate incidents involving fire-damaged vehicles. At approximately 1:30 a.m. in Moni, a lorry parked in an open area caught fire, resulting in the total destruction of its cabin. Nearly three hours later, at 4:00 a.m., two additional vehicles were damaged by fire in Kato Polemidia. These vehicles, which belonged to a 52-year-old businessman and his company, were parked outside his residence. Both scenes were cordoned off by authorities to facilitate further investigation. While some local sources suggest the Kato Polemidia incident is being treated as arson with a specific line of inquiry, official police reports indicate that investigations into the causes of all three fires are ongoing. No injuries were reported in either location. Fire brigade units successfully extinguished the blazes in both the Moni and Kato Polemidia cases.
