Establishment of the Omonoia athletic club

On June 17, 1948, the inaugural constituent assembly of the Omonoia athletic club, based in Nicosia, took place. During this meeting, the first statutes of the organization were formally approved. The founders officially adopted the name Omonoia, which was chosen to signify the club's identity as a team of the people. The clover was selected as the official club emblem, representing strength. Additionally, green and white were established as the club's official colors, symbolizing hope and joy, respectively. The entity is officially recognized as the Athletic Club Omonoia Nicosia (ASOL).
