Danish retailer JYSK announces entry into Cyprus market by 2027

Danish home furnishings retailer JYSK has announced its expansion into the Cyprus market, with the first stores expected to open in spring 2027. The company plans to launch two to four initial locations, with a long-term goal of operating 10 stores across the island. Operations in Cyprus will be managed by the JYSK Greece division, which currently oversees nearly 70 stores. This expansion will bring JYSK's global presence to 50 countries. The investment is projected to create up to 80 new jobs in Cyprus, and recruitment efforts are already underway. CEO Rami Jensen confirmed the entry as part of the company's international strategy, citing the potential appeal of Scandinavian home products. Founded in 1979 by Lars Larsen, JYSK currently operates approximately 3,600 stores globally and employs over 34,000 staff.
