Cyprus promotes food and wine products at the Regal Branchentreff 2026 event in Vienna

On June 11, 2026, Cyprus participated in the Regal Branchentreff 2026 trade event held in Vienna, Austria. The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Cyprus Trade Center, showcased various traditional products including halloumi, commandaria, and zivania. Local grape varieties such as Xynisteri, Maratheftiko, and Mavro were also highlighted. The event featured a halloumi tasting session aimed at demonstrating different consumption methods for the cheese. Organized by Regal Verlagsgesellschaft, the gathering serves as a key meeting point for the Austrian retail and food supply sector. Attendees included importers, supermarket chain representatives, wholesalers, and government officials from the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Ministries of Labor and Agriculture. Cyprus ambassador to Austria, Andreas Ignatiou, was present at the event. The initiative is intended to build business contacts and expand the presence of Cypriot products in the Central European market.
