Cypriot president travels to Brussels for the European Council
President Nikos Christodoulides travels to Brussels tomorrow to participate in the European Council, which serves as the final summit during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU. The President will review the work accomplished during the Cypriot Presidency and hold a joint press conference with the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission. A bilateral meeting with European Council President Antonio Costa is scheduled for Thursday, where they are expected to discuss European involvement in addressing the Cyprus issue. Additionally, President Christodoulides plans to meet with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the sidelines of the European People's Party summit. The President will also attend the inauguration of the 'Cyprus Insula' exhibition and participate in a ceremony for the signing of the Council's Joint Declaration. The meetings aim to highlight the results of the Cypriot Presidency and coordinate strategies regarding Turkey's stance on the Cyprus problem.
