AEL Limassol criticizes disciplinary rulings following the cup final

AEL Limassol has formally protested against the disciplinary rulings issued by sports judge Aristotelis Vryonidis regarding the incidents that occurred during the cup final between Pafos FC and Apollon Limassol. The club sent an official letter to the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) and the Ministry of Justice, demanding urgent action from the CFA Executive Committee. AEL spokesperson Nikolas Leventis publicly criticized the decision, which saw player Bruno receive a one-match suspension while others were penalized only with fines. Leventis characterized the rulings as scandalous, arguing that they demonstrate selective enforcement of regulations and a lack of consistency. He called for the immediate resignation of the sports judge, claiming that such lenient penalties undermine the credibility of the entire Cypriot football judicial system. The club maintains that these decisions reflect a culture of preferential treatment and disregard for justice, prompting their formal intervention to the authorities.
