GO plc operational relationship with Cablenet in Cyprus
Malta-based telecommunications provider GO plc has been collaborating with the Cypriot operator Cablenet since 2014. Established in 1975, GO plc serves over half a million customers in Malta and operates as a quad-play provider. For the year 2025, the company reported revenues of €254.4 million, representing a 3.9% increase, and profits of €20.7 million, a 31.7% rise. The group has diversified its business beyond traditional telecoms into areas including data centers, renewable energy, healthcare technology, and cybersecurity. GO plc has invested €100 million in a national fiber optic network in Malta, featuring 10 Gbps speeds and three submarine cables connecting to Sicily, France, Egypt, and Asia. Cablenet is currently leveraging this technical infrastructure and expertise to expand its Gigabit service offerings across Cyprus. This strategic partnership aims to transition Cablenet from an alternative market player into a major digital service provider. The transformation process focuses on integrating the group's wider capabilities while adapting to specific local market needs.
