National Guard hosts aviation conference in Paphos

The Cyprus National Guard Air Command hosted an aviation conference at the Andreas Papandreou air base in Paphos. The event focused on the strategic integration of airworthiness regulatory frameworks within aircraft maintenance and operations. Participants included National Guard leadership, aviation command officers, academics, and international experts. Lieutenant General Emmanuel Theodorou, Chief of the National Guard, inaugurated the conference. He emphasized that operational readiness relies not only on acquiring modern weapon systems but also on maintaining high reliability through consistent technical oversight. Theodorou highlighted the essential role of engineers and technicians in ensuring flight safety. Furthermore, the National Guard leadership announced the designation of 2026 as the Year of Maintenance.
