Man arrested in Limassol following stabbing incident

A 40-year-old man was arrested in Limassol in the early hours of the morning following a violent confrontation that left a 45-year-old man in serious condition. Police were notified at approximately 00:30 that the victim had arrived at Limassol General Hospital with a stab wound to the shoulder. According to the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department, the incident began when the 40-year-old suspect contacted the victim to arrange a meeting at his residence to resolve a personal dispute. The victim arrived at the home accompanied by two relatives, at which point the suspect allegedly attacked him using a knife and spray. The victim required emergency surgery and remains in the hospital's surgical ward in serious condition. Before his own arrest, the 40-year-old suspect sought medical treatment at a private hospital for a head wound and was subsequently discharged. The suspect currently faces charges including intent to cause grievous bodily harm and illegal possession of a knife. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
