Former prosecutor Eva Rossidou-Papakyriakou denies corruption authority findings

On June 18, 2026, former Deputy Attorney General and former head of MOKAS (Unit for Combating Money Laundering), Eva Rossidou-Papakyriakou, formally rejected findings by the Anti-Corruption Authority. The Authority's report, published on June 16, 2026, suggested potential criminal offenses regarding her handling of an investigation sparked by a 2019 Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) report. Rossidou-Papakyriakou stated that the allegations of cover-ups or personal favors are false and do not correspond to reality. She emphasized that the MOKAS investigation began automatically following the August 14, 2019, article and a public appeal by the then-President of the Republic. The investigation was conducted by a specialized team of investigators, accountants, and lawyers, involving actions both in Cyprus and abroad. She further asserted that decisions were made collectively, not individually, and the final report was submitted to the then-Attorney General. Rossidou-Papakyriakou expressed disappointment regarding the accusations and stated she will cooperate with any future investigative processes to prove that the original work was appropriate.
