Eurostat reports on Cyprus economy and price levels for 2024-2025
In 2024 and 2025, Cyprus maintained an economic profile close to the European Union average. Data indicates that actual individual consumption in Cyprus reached 98% of the EU average, while GDP per capita was recorded at 99% of the EU average in 2024. Regarding consumer prices in 2025, Cyprus's household final consumption expenditure stood at 89% to 89.2% of the EU average. Price levels across the bloc varied significantly, with Denmark peaking at 140% and Bulgaria at the lowest with 63%. Specifically in Cyprus, food and non-alcoholic beverages were aligned with the EU average at 100.1%. Other sectors in Cyprus recorded price levels at 85.2% for restaurants and accommodation, 94.1% for healthcare, and 87% for housing-related costs. Education costs in Cyprus were notably higher than the EU average, reaching 137.5%. Eurostat highlighted that education remains the category with the most significant price disparities across member states, ranging from 42% in Romania to 334% in Luxembourg.
