Panathinaikos finalizes transfers and begins preseason training in the Netherlands

Panathinaikos has acquired 27-year-old goalkeeper Inaki Pena from Barcelona for approximately 2.5 million euros, signing him to a 3+1 year contract. Additionally, the club is in advanced stages of signing Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij, as confirmed by reporter Fabrizio Romano. Triantafyllos Tsapras has also joined the team on a four-year deal from Levadiakos. On June 22, 2026, the team traveled to Apeldoorn, Netherlands, for their main training camp under coach Jacob Neestrup, scheduled to last until July 5. The squad includes recent signings Etienne Camara, Tsapras, and Pena, who joined the camp on June 23. Panathinaikos is set to play friendly matches against Helmond Sport on July 1 and Ajax on July 4.
