Police conduct operations and drug arrest in Famagusta district

Cyprus police carried out a coordinated operation in the Famagusta district between yesterday evening and early this morning, involving multiple police units. During the operation, authorities issued 12 traffic violation notices and inspected three nightclubs, leading to three complaints regarding operating license violations. Two individuals were arrested at one of the clubs for illegal employment. Additionally, a 21-year-old man was arrested in Paralimni after police observed him retrieving items from the ground. A subsequent search revealed 11 grams of cocaine, a precision scale, 2 grams of cannabis, €3,960 in cash, and two mobile phones. The suspect remains in custody, and the Famagusta Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) is investigating the drug-related offenses. Four security guards were also checked, with no irregularities found.
