34-year-old arrested in Volos for extorting 370,000 euros from a minor
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in Volos, Greece, on charges of extorting approximately 370,000 euros from a 13-year-old boy. The investigation revealed that the incident began when the boy, the son of a wealthy businessman, obtained fireworks for a birthday celebration. A friend allegedly took some of the fireworks and passed them to the 34-year-old suspect. The suspect and four minors then pressured the boy, threatening to implicate both him and his parents in legal trouble regarding the fireworks. Over a period of one and a half months, the victim was coerced into handing over the funds in installments. The parents discovered the missing money, leading the child to disclose the extortion. Following a formal complaint and subsequent police investigation, authorities identified the suspect through his suspicious purchase of motorcycles and a BMW. The investigation into the four involved minors is currently ongoing.
