Anorthosis awaits Karel Geraerts' decision on coaching offer
Anorthosis Famagusta is currently in advanced negotiations with 44-year-old Belgian coach Karel Geraerts for a two-year contract. The club, which is undergoing a management transition, has provided an official offer and is awaiting a final response, expected by Monday. Geraerts has been briefed on the club's current challenges, including a transfer embargo and a restructuring plan. While negotiations are described as cautiously optimistic, the club is simultaneously evaluating alternative candidates to avoid a repeat of the failed talks with Zeljko Kopic, which collapsed over salary and technical staff demands. The team’s pre-season preparation is scheduled to begin on July 13. Additionally, Anorthosis is finalizing a deal to extend Andreas Karamanolis' loan from Panserraikos for another two years. Administrative tasks, such as forming a new board of directors with Christos Marangos as a key presidential candidate, are also underway following the recent General Assembly.
