Anorthosis nears decision on new head coach
Anorthosis Famagusta is currently in the final stages of selecting a new head coach, with 44-year-old Belgian Karel Geraerts serving as the primary candidate. The club has officially offered Geraerts a two-year contract and is awaiting his final decision, which is expected by early next week. Negotiations with Croatian coach Zeljko Kopic collapsed recently, reportedly due to disagreements over his coaching staff and financial demands. While the club remains cautiously optimistic about the deal with Geraerts, they are simultaneously evaluating alternative candidates to avoid delays in their planning. The team is scheduled to begin official preparations for the upcoming season on July 13. Furthermore, the club is in advanced negotiations with Panserraikos to renew the loan of Andreas Karamanolis for the next two seasons. Meanwhile, the club's leadership is undergoing restructuring, with Savvas Koumis and Stavros Papageorgiou tasked with forming a new board of directors within the next two weeks.
