United States receives luxury Boeing 747-8 aircraft as a donation from Qatar

The United States Air Force has officially unveiled a Boeing 747-8 aircraft at Joint Base Andrews, donated by the government of Qatar. The aircraft, valued at approximately $400 million, will serve as an interim transport for the U.S. President, designated as a bridge aircraft until the new presidential fleet from Boeing is delivered, currently scheduled for 2028. Donald Trump presented the jet, describing it as a flying White House with high-end interior finishes. The U.S. Air Force confirmed that the aircraft has undergone necessary modifications to ensure security, advanced communication systems, and logistical support. These modifications were intended to neutralize potential threats associated with the pre-existing configuration of the jet. The aircraft features a new aesthetic design, marking a departure from the traditional blue livery. Initial test flights are expected to commence shortly to ensure the platform meets all presidential mission requirements.
