Atletico Madrid is currently negotiating the transfer of 30-year-old Spanish defender Alejandro Grimaldo from Bayer Leverkusen. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs are in active discussions regarding the terms of the move. Grimaldo has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Diego Simeone's side. The Spanish club is prepared to offer 10 million euros to secure the player's immediate release. Grimaldo, whose contract with Bayer Leverkusen runs until the summer of 2027, delivered a strong performance this season with 14 goals and 12 assists in 46 appearances. While reports suggest the deal is close to completion, official confirmation from both clubs remains pending.
