Ministry of Defence announces recruitment of contract soldiers

The Cypriot Ministry of Defence is accepting applications for the recruitment of contract soldiers (SYOP) to the National Guard to fill existing and upcoming vacancies. The application period began on May 25, 2026, and will conclude on July 13, 2026, at 14:00. Candidates must submit their applications exclusively through the government portal at gov.cy within the Conscription section. Applicants are required to be registered and verified users of the government portal, with verification options including eBanking, physical visits to service centers (KEP/KEPO), or video calls. Following the application deadline, candidates will undergo physical fitness testing and a grip strength evaluation. Notifications regarding these assessments will be sent via email and SMS later in July.
