Cyprus expands summer school program for 2024

On Sunday, the Cypriot Minister of Education, Sports, and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, announced the expansion of the national summer school program. The initiative includes updated curricula and a broader range of facilities across the country. Starting Monday, 64 general summer schools will accommodate 8,700 students. Additionally, 7 specialized summer schools will serve 500 children. Minister Michaelidou stated that the program is intended to provide a safe and creative environment for children during the summer months. She noted that this effort is part of the government's broader strategy to support working parents and enhance the social role of the education system. The announcement emphasized that these programs are designed to remain accessible throughout the year.
