Cypriot athletes secure medals at the 78th Balkan Athletics Championships in Volos
The 78th Balkan Athletics Championships for men and women took place at the Panthessaliko Stadium in Volos. Milan Trajkovic won a silver medal in the 110m hurdles, finishing in 13.70 seconds. This marks Trajkovic's fifth Balkan medal, adding to his career total of three golds, one silver, and one bronze. In the hammer throw event, Iosif Kesidis secured a bronze medal with a final throw of 76.56 meters. The gold medal in the hammer throw went to Christos Frantzeskakis with 77.22 meters, while the silver was awarded to Markelo Mema with 76.57 meters. For Kesidis, this is his first major medal in the men's category. His performance serves as preparation for the upcoming European Championships in Birmingham scheduled for August 10-16.
