Maritime ministers of Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Malta meet in Rome

From June 22 to 24, 2026, maritime officials from Greece, Cyprus, Italy, and Malta participated in the 'Shaping the Future of Shipping Summit 2026' in Rome. The event was organized by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) in collaboration with the Italian Confederation of Shipowners (CONFITARMA). Attendees included Greek Minister Vassilis Kikilias, Cypriot Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis, Italian Deputy Minister Edoardo Rixi, and Maltese Minister Chris Bonett. The ministers held bilateral meetings to discuss cooperation on shipping policy, regulatory changes, and geopolitical challenges facing the maritime industry. The summit addressed the industry's response to the green transition and supply chain pressures. This gathering highlighted the strategic importance of the Mediterranean corridor for international trade. The event also received support from the European Commission and the Italian government.
