Greek government expresses dissatisfaction over the deportation of six unionists from Israel
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formally expressed its dissatisfaction to Israeli authorities following the denial of entry and subsequent deportation of six Greek citizens. The individuals, who represent various labor unions, were traveling to Ramallah in the West Bank upon the invitation of Palestinian labor organizations. The Greek ministry noted that the citizens had fulfilled all necessary travel requirements and had officially declared the purpose of their visit to the Israeli authorities. Despite this compliance, the Israeli authorities prohibited their entry. Several Greek political parties, including KKE, SYRIZA, Nea Aristera, and the Greek Left Alliance, have issued statements regarding the incident. Additionally, the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME) condemned the action, characterizing it as an attempt by Israel to suppress voices of solidarity. PAME further called for an immediate cessation of political, economic, and military cooperation with Israel. No specific response from the Israeli government regarding the rationale for the entry denial was provided in the reports.
