Cypriot universities performance in global rankings

Recent global university rankings show varying performance for higher education institutions in Cyprus. The Times Higher Education index lists the European University of Cyprus and the University of Nicosia in the 301+ bracket among 462 global institutions. The WebOfMetrics ranking highlights 26 Cypriot educational bodies, with the University of Cyprus currently ranked 667th globally, followed by the University of Nicosia at 1771st and the Cyprus University of Technology at 1824th. Separately, the University of Cyprus announced its inclusion in the QS World University Rankings 2027 at the 525th position. The university stated it holds the top national ranking in academic reputation, research citations per faculty, and employer perception. The QS evaluation specifically recognized its international research network and sustainability initiatives. These rankings utilize different metrics, accounting for the wide variance in placement across the lists.
