AEK transfer progress and squad updates for the 2026-27 season
AEK is currently working on further squad reinforcements, targeting a central defender and a starting midfielder before the training camp begins on July 6. Transfer activity is being managed discreetly by Javier Ribalta, with official announcements expected soon. Meanwhile, contract extensions for Jovic and Pilios are in progress but expected to be finalized upon their return to Athens. Reports indicate that 60% to 70% of the summer recruitment is complete, with seven new signings confirmed, including Andereggen, Pileas, Muftic, Adoni, Layouni, Pankov, and Repas. Eight players have departed the club, while Ledes, Miramon, Naoum, and Paraskevas have renewed their contracts. Additionally, Chacón and Cabrera are sidelined at the start of the season due to significant injuries. Medical and ergometric examinations are scheduled for June 22, followed by the first training session on June 23.
