35-year-old arrested in Limassol following child abuse material investigation
A 35-year-old man was arrested in Limassol, Cyprus, following information provided by Europol regarding the alleged possession of child sexual abuse material. The suspect is accused of sharing such material online. Police, including the Cybercrime Subdivision, the Forensic Digital Evidence Laboratory, and the Limassol Crime Prevention Unit, executed a court-ordered search at his residence. Authorities confiscated various items, including two mobile phones, two external storage devices, a tablet, and a computer for forensic analysis. Reports indicate that at least 12 files containing child sexual abuse material were allegedly found in the suspect's possession. On June 22, the suspect appeared before the Limassol District Court, which granted a four-day remand order to facilitate the ongoing investigation. The case is currently under active police examination, and authorities have limited further disclosures due to the sensitivity of the matter.
