35-year-old arrested in Limassol following Europol report on child abuse material

Cyprus Police arrested a 35-year-old man in Limassol on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material. The investigation was initiated following intelligence received from Europol. On a recent morning, officers from the Cybercrime Unit, the Digital Data Forensics Laboratory, and the Limassol Crime Prevention Unit executed a court-ordered search at the suspect's residence. During the search, authorities seized two mobile phones, two portable storage devices, and one tablet for further forensic analysis. Following his arrest, the suspect appeared before the Limassol District Court. The court issued a detention order against the man for a period of four days. The Cybercrime Unit continues to lead the investigation into the seized evidence.
