Emergency incidents in Cyprus districts involving fires and road accidents

In the early hours of Wednesday, a tractor unit parked in a field in Mesa Geitonia, Limassol, was completely destroyed by a fire. The Limassol CID has secured the scene and is investigating the cause. Additionally, on Tuesday evening, a vehicle caught fire while moving on a dirt road in Monagroulli, spreading to nearby dry vegetation before being extinguished by four fire engines with support from the Game Service. In a separate incident in Psimolofou, Nicosia district, a fire originating from a mattress spread to the wooden roof of a building early Wednesday morning, requiring partial dismantling of the roof for safety. On Tuesday afternoon, a road accident occurred on the Akrounta–Dierona road where a vehicle fell into a ditch, forcing fire crews to extract the driver using specialized equipment. The driver was transported to Limassol General Hospital by a relative for medical evaluation. Over a 24-hour period, the Fire Service responded to 36 calls across the region.
