Recent road accidents and vehicle fires in Limassol district

Multiple incidents involving vehicle fires and a road accident occurred in the Limassol district. On Tuesday, a driver lost control of a vehicle on the Akrounta-Dierona road, ending up in a ditch; the individual was extricated by the Fire Service and transported to Limassol General Hospital by a relative. Additionally, a heavy goods vehicle parked in a field was completely destroyed by a fire early Wednesday morning, currently under investigation by the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department. A separate incident on Monday involved a mini-van that caught fire in Kolossi. Another fire occurred on June 23 in Monagroulli, involving a moving vehicle that caught fire and spread to dry grass; the blaze was contained by the Fire Service with support from the Game Service and a private excavator. No injuries were reported in the vehicle fire incidents. Authorities have secured the scenes and are conducting further investigations. The exact causes of the fires remain under investigation.
