Fuel shortages in Crimea lead to suspension of summer camps and restricted sales
Authorities in Russian-controlled Crimea have suspended summer children's camps until September and restricted private fuel sales due to severe supply shortages. Governor Sergey Aksyonov cited public safety and logistical disruptions caused by recent Ukrainian drone attacks on supply routes and oil refineries as the primary causes. These attacks have impacted fuel availability across Russia, prompting Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak to hold meetings with oil producers to coordinate national pricing and supply measures. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the government is actively working to mitigate the negative consequences of these strikes on the energy sector. While there have been no mass protests, local residents in Sevastopol reported adapting to the crisis by reducing private vehicle usage. The administration continues to monitor the situation to stabilize the domestic fuel market.
