Mauro Camoranesi begins preparations for AEK Larnaca's 2026-27 season
AEK Larnaca officially launched its 2026-27 season preparations under the guidance of new coach Mauro Camoranesi, assisted by Iñaki Astiz and fitness coach Miguel Enrique. The team will train in Cyprus until June 29 before moving to the 'HUP' sports center in Mierlo, Netherlands, for a training camp lasting until July 11. Camoranesi emphasized the need for consistency to challenge for the league title, acknowledging the team's historical struggles at critical moments. The club has already completed eight transfers, with technical director Xavi Roca managing the recruitment process. AEK is scheduled to play several high-profile friendly matches, including games against PAOK and Ajax, as well as a final preparation match against Apollon. These sessions aim to prepare the squad for their first competitive challenge in the second qualifying round of the Conference League against Beitar Jerusalem on July 23. Although an open training session and a traditional blessing were originally planned for June 26, these events have been postponed to a later date.
