Implementation of Troodos fire-affected region regeneration project
In November 2025, the Coca-Cola HBC Foundation announced a €1 million donation to fund the Integrated Regeneration Programme for fire-affected villages in the Troodos mountains. This initiative, developed by the MountMed Institute at the suggestion of the Anastasios G. Leventis Foundation, is scheduled to run from 2026 to 2028. The core of the program is the newly established Agricultural Applications Unit, which provides technical support to local farmers, livestock breeders, and beekeepers. Agronomist and researcher Nikolas Valanidis from MountMed is serving as the lead expert on the ground to coordinate field operations. The project aims to move beyond simple aid by providing continuous scientific guidance to ensure sustainable development for the local communities. A digital campaign has been launched to showcase the daily progress and the direct involvement of the scientific teams working in the region.
