Federation of Parents' Associations contests eviction from Lakatamia school

The Federation of Parents' Associations of Public and Community Kindergartens of Nicosia has formally objected to a decision by the Lakatamia School Board. The Board issued a letter on June 18, 2026, ordering the Federation to vacate its long-term office space at the 2nd Primary School of Lakatamia by July 30, 2026. The Federation claims the decision lacks sufficient justification, legal clarity, and proportionality. Furthermore, the organization asserts that it was never consulted before the decision was reached. The Federation argues that the abrupt eviction will severely hinder its institutional functions as a representative body for parents in the Nicosia district. Consequently, the organization is demanding an immediate suspension of the order. It has requested that further consultations be held between the Lakatamia School Board, the Ministry of Education, and the Federation itself before any further action is taken.
