85-year-old man arrested for street racing in Florida

William Bosworth, 85, was arrested by the Lake County Sheriff's Office in Leesburg, Florida, for participating in an illegal street race. Authorities recorded his Nissan 350Z convertible traveling at 177 km/h, while the accompanying red Chevrolet Corvette was tracked at 200 km/h in a 72 km/h speed zone. Bodycam footage shows the officer approaching the elderly man, who was wearing sunglasses and smoking a cigar. Bosworth denied racing, claiming he was only speeding to evade the other vehicle after it swerved toward him. The officer rejected the explanation, stating he clearly observed a race. Bosworth was taken into custody after being informed of Florida's speed laws. Reports indicate that the driver of the Corvette was also subsequently arrested. Both individuals were later released on bail.
