Ecologists Movement backs Andri Hadjiandreou for Aglantzia Deputy Mayor

The Nicosia-Kyrenia Provincial Assembly of the Movement of Ecologists – Citizens' Cooperation has officially decided to support the independent candidacy of Andri Hadjiandreou for the position of Deputy Mayor of Aglantzia. The decision was reached during a recent meeting with 42 votes in favor, one against, and one abstention. This support is based on a signed Memorandum of Understanding containing five key policy areas. The agreement stipulates strengthening the Aglantzia District Committee according to Article 70 of the Municipal Law, including hosting public sessions and incorporating local organization representatives as observers. Furthermore, the candidate committed to protecting the Athalassa Forest Park from development projects, specifically the expansion of Akadimias Avenue and the construction of a major traffic hub. The memorandum also focuses on upgrading green spaces in the area, including the Melkonian Grove and the Aichmaloton Park. These initiatives aim to foster greater environmental awareness and improve communal recreational facilities in collaboration with the Nicosia Municipality.
