Recent violent incidents in the Paphos district
Two separate incidents have recently occurred in the Paphos district, Cyprus. In the first case, a 36-year-old man was remanded for six days following a shooting at a house in Tremithousa on June 24 at approximately 03:50. The shots hit the wooden front door, and although the occupants—aged 38 and 41—were uninjured, police believe the attack was a case of mistaken identity meant for a nearby resident involved in drug-related activities. In a second, unrelated incident, a chase occurred in Paphos after a driver ignored police orders to stop. The suspect, an Egyptian national residing illegally in Cyprus, was arrested in Kissonerga after causing vehicle damages and violating traffic signals, with police firing warning shots during the pursuit.
