Cyprus Theatre Organization to stage Euripides' Ion

The Cyprus Theatre Organization (THOC) will present a new production of Euripides' play Ion. Directed by Thomas Moschopoulos, the play explores themes of identity and belonging. In Cyprus, performances are scheduled at the Makarios III Amphitheatre in Nicosia on July 16, 17, and 18, at the Pattichion Municipal Amphitheatre in Larnaca on July 22, and at the Ancient Theatre of Kourion on July 24. The production will subsequently travel to Greece for the Athens Epidaurus Festival, with performances at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus on August 28 and 29. The creative team includes set and costume designer Vassilis Papatsarouchas and composer Anastasia Dimitriadou (nama dama). This production marks the return of Moschopoulos to THOC following last year's collaboration on The Government Inspector. The play is noted for its blending of tragic and comedic elements.
