Luka Modric reaches 200 international appearances

Luka Modric has reached 200 international appearances for the Croatian national team. The milestone occurred during a 1-0 victory against Panama in the second matchday of Group 12 at the 2026 World Cup. At 40 years of age, the midfielder played for 81 minutes in the match. Modric becomes only the fourth male player in history to reach this milestone, joining Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Bader Al-Mutawa. His international career began on March 1, 2006, in a 3-2 friendly victory over Argentina. Throughout his career, he has led Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final and a third-place finish in the 2022 tournament. He currently competes in his fifth World Cup.
