Minds in Cyprus initiative hosts events in the United Kingdom

The Minds in Cyprus initiative returned to the United Kingdom on June 22 and 23, 2024, to hold events in Birmingham and London. Deputy Minister to the President Irene Piki represented the government to report on the initiative's progress since its launch by President Nikos Christodoulides one year prior. Over 350 Cypriot professionals residing in the UK attended the sessions, which aimed to facilitate professional connections with local businesses. A delegation of 24 companies from sectors including technology, fintech, research, and energy offered more than 110 specialized job vacancies. The London event functioned as a career fair, while the Birmingham event featured a roundtable discussion on the Cypriot economy and labor market needs. The initiative seeks to strengthen ties with the diaspora and position Cyprus as a viable option for returning professionals. The government emphasized the development of new incentives and support tools to facilitate this transition.
