A 36-year-old physician dies following childbirth complications in Mytilene

A 36-year-old doctor from Mytilene died on Tuesday following complications arising after giving birth to a healthy child. The patient had a natural delivery on Friday, but began experiencing health issues on Saturday, including a high fever. She was admitted to the intensive care unit at Vostaneio Hospital on Monday. Following a decision to transfer her to an Athens hospital for specialized care, she was transported via air ambulance on Tuesday. During the flight, the patient required resuscitation efforts, but she ultimately passed away before reaching the destination. The exact causes and circumstances leading to her death are currently under investigation. Her husband, who is also a doctor, accompanied her during the transport.
