Cyprus economic sentiment index rose marginally in June 2026
The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) in Cyprus saw a marginal increase of 0.2 points in June 2026 compared to May, according to data from the Economic Research Centre of the University of Cyprus and RAI Consultants. The rise was driven by improved sentiment in the retail, construction, and consumer sectors, which offset a decline in the services sector. In the manufacturing sector, the index remained stable as negative assessments regarding current orders were balanced by favorable reports on finished goods inventories. Consumers reported a more optimistic outlook for the future economic situation of their households and the country, marking the second consecutive month of improvement in consumer confidence. However, consumers' assessments of their recent personal financial situation worsened. Despite the overall positive trend, the services sector faced lower expectations for business turnover. Additionally, the Economic Uncertainty Index rose in June, though it remained below the levels recorded in March. The ESI persists slightly above the long-term average of 100 points, signaling steady economic activity.
