Update on urban traffic and road works in Limassol

Limassol municipality is addressing public concerns regarding the installation of bollards for cycle lanes, which will be discussed at a Municipal Council meeting on June 29 with the Department of Public Works. Mayor Giannis Armeftis confirmed the municipality has unilaterally removed some bollards in 30 km/h zones and is awaiting a response from the Department regarding 11 specific locations. Additionally, new traffic regulations effective June 24, 2026, will introduce two PELICAN pedestrian crossings near the Lady’s Mile roundabout on the New Port vertical road. Road repair works are scheduled on Anexartisias Street from June 25 to 26, 2026, requiring a full closure of the section between Agiou Andreou and 28is Oktovriou. Furthermore, the Enaerios parking area will be closed for asphalt paving from July 1 to July 3, 2026. These measures aim to improve urban mobility and road safety within the city.
