Berlusconi family agrees to sell Villa Certosa to Qatar royal family

The Berlusconi family has accepted a binding offer to sell the historic Villa Certosa in Sardinia to the Al Thani royal family of Qatar. The transaction is valued at 350 million euros, significantly lower than the initial asking price of 500 million euros. The deal is being facilitated by Constellation Hotels Holding Ltd Sca, a Luxembourg-based investment firm serving as the European arm for Qatari real estate interests. The estate, acquired by Silvio Berlusconi in 1980, spans 4,500 square meters of interior space and includes 126 rooms, a theater, pools, and extensive park grounds. Historically, the property hosted global figures including George Bush and Vladimir Putin, and served as the venue for various social events. Immobiliare Idra, part of the Fininvest group, confirmed the acceptance of the offer following reports in Italian media such as Corriere della Sera and La Nuova Sardegna. This sale follows a period of interest from various international investors since Berlusconi's death in June 2023.
