Louis Dimitriou elected as new president of the Cyprus Basketball Federation

On Wednesday, June 24, the Cyprus Basketball Federation held its Extraordinary Statutory and Annual General Meeting at the 'ALLWYN Ef Agonizesthai' hall in the Olympic House of Cyprus. During this electoral assembly, Louis Dimitriou was elected as the new president of the Board of Directors for the 2026-2030 term. He was the sole candidate for the position. Outgoing president Andreas Mouzouridis officially stepped down, concluding his eight-year tenure that began in 2018. During his farewell address, Mouzouridis reviewed the 2025-2026 season and his overall record, highlighting the growth of the federation and the organization of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 as major milestones. He thanked the clubs, coaches, referees, sponsors, and athletes for their collaboration throughout his term. The outgoing president formally expressed his support for his successor and the new Board of Directors, expressing his desire for the continued progress of Cypriot basketball.
