Cyprus Deputy Minister of Shipping attends Rome shipping summit
Between June 22 and 24, 2026, Cyprus Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanoli visited Rome to participate in the 'Shaping the Future of Shipping Summit 2026'. The event was organized by the International Chamber of Shipping in cooperation with CONFITARMA, under the auspices of the European Commission in Italy and the Italian government. During a high-level ministerial panel, Hadjimanoli engaged with her counterparts from Italy, Greece, and Malta to discuss maritime cooperation. She highlighted the outcomes of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, specifically regarding maritime transport. Key priorities mentioned included enhancing European shipping competitiveness, the green and digital transition, and the support of seafarers. Furthermore, the minister emphasized the necessity of maintaining a strong international regulatory framework under the International Maritime Organization. The discussions underscored a mutual commitment to strengthening maritime relations among the participating Mediterranean nations.
