90-year-old man arrested at Attikon hospital for carrying a knife

On Wednesday night at approximately 22:00, a 90-year-old man was arrested at Attikon Hospital in Athens. The individual attempted to visit actress Maro Kontou, who is currently hospitalized in the cardiology clinic, claiming to be her relative. He was carrying a flowerpot and a container at the time of his arrival. Security personnel grew suspicious of his behavior and conducted a search of his belongings. Reports differ on how the weapon was discovered, with one account stating the knife was found inside the container he carried, while another source, POEDIN president Michalis Giannakos, stated the knife was found in his back pocket after a nurse alerted security. The police arrived shortly after being notified and detained the man. He was transported to the Haidari police station. Authorities are currently investigating the suspect's motives and the reason he was in possession of a weapon.
