Heatwave warnings issued for Denmark and Sweden
The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has issued an orange alert for most of Denmark, effective from Friday until Sunday evening due to an incoming heatwave. Temperatures are expected to rise from current levels of 23–28 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius, particularly in the southern and eastern regions. The DMI noted that high humidity will exacerbate the discomfort caused by the heat. Organizers of the Copenhell metal festival in Copenhagen, which runs through Saturday, have advised attendees to maintain proper hydration. Meanwhile, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a yellow alert for southern Sweden for Friday and Saturday. Temperatures in the southern parts of Sweden are forecast to reach at least 30 degrees Celsius during this period. Authorities in both nations have urged the public to take necessary precautions against the rising heat.
