He revealed that in 1999, he was consuming alcohol for 23 hours a day, allowing himself only one hour of sleep. Atheridis described his addiction as a flawed attempt at self-medication for anxiety. He noted that individuals often turn to substances like cocaine for depression or heroin for trauma as a way to cope with psychological pain.
